Start Time

  •  If the league has a specific start time, players are expected to be ready to play at that time. If you are going to be late or cannot make it, please call your opponent and let them know as soon as possible. Both players will have the option to reschedule if one of the player(s) is going to be late and does not want to wait. If the player makes contact with their opponent, there will be no forfeit. However, failure to notify your opponent if you are going to be late or not make it at all within 5 minutes after scheduled start time will result in match forfeit.
  •  If the league is a play anywhere at anytime league, the above rule applies to the agreed upon starting time. If a player cannot make it on time to the agreed upon starting time they must contact their opponent before 5 minutes after agreed upon start time. If no contact is made by then, then the match is a forfeit.
  •  Work, life, stuff happens, but please be courteous of your opponents who may have traveled a long distance or rearranged plans to play a match and do your best to stick to the agreed upon start times.
  •  Substitutions – No subs are ever allowed in singles or doubles leagues

Scheduling/Rescheduling Matches

  •  If you are in an “in-house” league with a set location and starting time each week you will be given a schedule and expected to follow the schedule. Matches can be rescheduled but they must be played at the “in-house” location. Locations pay a fee for an “in-house” league so all matches must be played at that location.
  •  If you are in a traveling league (i.e. home team’s bar will host) where there are multiple locations, matches must be played at the location it is scheduled for. You can reschedule a match but you still must play it at the location that it was originally scheduled at. Again the location paid a fee to host a specific number of matches so you must play the match where it was scheduled.
  •  If you are in a play any where, any time league you will be given a schedule at the beginning of the season that will act as a guide. While it is preferred that you get in one match a week against an opponent as scheduled, you do not necessarily have to follow the schedule week to week. Players will contact each other and set up dates, times and locations to play their matches. So play anyone you can at any time you can. You will be given a certain time frame to complete all of your matches. Any matches not completed by the end of the season will not be counted in the standings. If a player or players is having difficulty coming to an agreement on when and where to play a match, contact the DPSTL staff for assistance.
  •  In play any where, any time leagues common sense and courtesy is expected of the players. If you live far away from everyone else you should not expect everyone to drive to you to play all your matches. A compromise should be made, if you play a person twice then they come to you once and you go to them once. Or meet in the middle both times. Each match will have a designated “home” and “away” but being home does not mean you can point blank say where the match will be played. You must work it out between players. If compromise and working well with others is not something you do well, then you probably shouldn’t play this type of league.

Rules of the Games

  •  Corking (Singles Leagues) – cork/diddle at the beginning of the match. Flip a coin to determine who gets to decide see or show first. The winner of the cork will be the person closest to the bullseye. All single bulls tie, all double bulls tie. Double bulls beat single bulls. A shooter may pull a bull or double bull dart at any time. You cannot pull darts that are outside of the bull unless it is deemed a tie and you need to reshoot. Alternate who shoots first for all cork redo’s. The winner of the cork goes first in the first game/set and it will be alternating start after that. If its a set format, the winner of the cork will go first in the odd numbers sets – 1, 3, 5, 7 etc. The loser of the cork will go first in the even number sets – 2, 4, 6, etc. Within each set, the person who shoots first in the set shoots first in the odd numbered legs – 1, 3, 5, etc. And the other person shoots first in the even numbered legs – 2, 4, 6, etc.
  •  Corking (Doubles Leagues) – You will cork to see who goes first in each set of games within the doubles league format – singles and doubles sets. Winner of the cork of that set will start game 1 of the set. Alternate start after that. Same corking rules as above as for to determine winner of cork.
  •  All 501 games are played open in, double out, split bull (25/50)
  •  All cricket games are played slop cricket
  •  In the event there is an issue with how to score a dart, illegal touching of a dart, throw line violations, etc., consult the ADO Tournament rules
  •  Information on formats – set, match play, premier, doubles leagues – can be found on the League Info page

Dart Connect Scoring App

  •  All matches must be played using the Dart Connect Scoring app which can be downloaded at Dart Connect Scoring App
  •  To use the app you must register with Dart Connect and have a membership. A guest membership is free. A premium membership is $24 a year and allows you to use the application to score matches any time – practice games, other leagues, tournaments – and also allows you to play friends online or against the Dart Connect computer player. A great practice tool. Click here to create a Dart Connect membership.
  •  Information on how to use the application, correct scoring errors, etc. is available on the Dart Connect web site. Instructions and links may also be emailed to you at the beginning of a season.
  •  The app works best on iPads but also works on laptops, iPhones, Android phones, Kindles, etc.
  •  Anyone’s device may be used but it is the “Home” team’s responsibility to make sure that a device is available for use and the home team is responsible to log into the app and set up the match.
  •  For doubles matches, two devices may be used, but you need to make sure that the correct teams and players are set up the same on each device and Home and Away are the same on each device. For Doubles when using two devices, you must always manually end and save a match or else the matches will not sync up and get delivered to the server properly.

Rankings

  •  Everyone that plays in DPSTL leagues will be listed in the player Rankings page
  •  The ranking will be by PPR (Points Per Round). This is the average score you achieve every time you throw three darts in an 01 game.
  •  Your PPR will be used to determine what leagues you are eligible for – Singles Elite (no max PPR), Singles Advanced (55 PPR max), Singles Intermediate (50 PPR max), Singles Developmental (40 PPR max). Doubles and Mixed Doubles leagues will have a 120 combined PPR cap for the Advanced League and a 100 combined PPR cap for the Intermediate league. These caps are subject to change as more players get involved and more data is collected.
  •  Your PPR will be a revolving stat of the past 12 months. It will be updated at the end of every DPSTL division that completes. All divisions you played in that completed in the past 12 months at the time of the update will be used to determine your “Current” PPR. Once a division is more than 12 months old, those stats will drop off.
  •  If you are new to the league and do not have an established PPR then one will be assigned to you by the DPSTL staff. All available information will be used to establish your PPR including Dart Madness stats, other steel tip or soft tip league stats and known ability. If no determination of your ability can be found then you will be assigned a starting PPR of 65.
  •  If you have a DPSTL PPR but you have not played in a DPSTL league for over a year, your PPR will still be whatever your last PPR was at the finish of your last DPSTL league.
  •  Each year (starting in 2020), the top 10 players in the DPSTL ranking list will be invited to play in a PDC style premier league. The intention is to have this league sponsored and have a nice payout and also to possibly be live streamed each week. More details will be out soon, but you are going to want to be in the top 10 if you can.

Costs/Payouts

  •  Explanation of league costs and payouts can be found on the Payouts/Costs page
  •  Payout tie breakers (singles set format):
    •  Total set wins is the first tie breaker
    •  Head to head matches is the second tie breaker
    •  Overall PPR for that division at the end of the season is the next tie breaker (if league had cricket singles, we will still go on PPR, if it was an all cricket division, then it will be MPR)
    •  In the unlikely hood we are still tied, the money will be split
  •  Payout tie breakers (singles match play and premier league formats):
    •  Leg differential is the first tie breaker
    •  Head to head matches is the second tie breaker
    • Overall PPR for that division at the end of the season is the next tie breaker (if league had cricket singles, we will still go on PPR, if it was an all cricket division, then it will be MPR)
    • In the unlikely hood we are still tied, the money will be split
  • Payout tie breakers (mixed and open doubles leagues):
    • Head to head matches (win/loss)
    • Head to head games (total points)
    •  If still tied, money will be split
  • If someone (or a doubles team) drops out of the league once its too late to reschedule matches, they are still expected to pay their admin fee and match costs. In this scenario they will get back their appropriate winnings based on where they finish, which will probably be last place. If they drop out early enough where the schedule and payouts can be adjusted, they only owe their $10 admin fee.
  •  If someone (or a doubles team) drops out and owes money or completes a season and owes money and fails to pay, they will be banned from all DPSTL leagues and tournaments (i.e. Dart Madness) for a minimum of one year. If the person eventually pays, they can be reinstated after one year. If they never pay, then they never play again.
  •  In the case of someone not paying, the payouts will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the missing payout money. Each paying position will be reduced by a certain % or $$ amount.
  •  If someone (or a doubles team) have to drop for a legitimate reason – injury, relocation, etc. we will get replacement players or work something out.
