General Information:
- All singles league matches are steel tip long format and will consist of either all 501 open in/double out or a combination of 501 OI/DO and Slop Cricket
- All Doubles and Mixed Doubles formats listed below
- All matches require using the Dart Connect Scoring App which is available on IPad, Android and Mobile devices (work best on devices with a 9.7 inch screen or higher)
- All players will get a Dart Connect guest membership when playing in a DPSTL league but you are highly encouraged to get a Dart Connect annual membership ($2 a month) to take advantage of using the app all the time at your MVDO, SCDL leagues and tournament matches as well as using the Dart Connect practice tools.
- Each league will have a $10 admin fee per player – both money leagues and non money leagues
- Money leagues will also have a $5 a match fee for singles and $10 match fee for doubles so the total cost will depend on the number of players/teams in your division and your schedule. Total costs and payouts are available in the Payout page.
Division Types:
- Premier League – Once a year the top 10 players in DPSTL leagues (based on PPR) will be invited to play in the Premier League. Details will be published soon.
- Elite – Open to all players regardless of PPR but intention is to be the best players in the area
- Advanced – Open to all players with a maximum PPR of 55.0
- Intermediate – Open to all players with a maximum PPR of 50.0
- Developmental League – Open to all players with a maximum PPR of 40.0
- Youth League – Open to all players 20 years old and under
- Mixed or Open Doubles Elite – No max, open to all player combinations
- Mixed or Open Doubles Advanced – 120 max combined PPR
- Mixed or Open Doubles Intermediate – 100 max combined PPR
(NOTE: Your “Current” PPR will be used for league registration. This “Current” PPR will be a rolling one year average of all DPSTL leagues played from the current date to one year ago. See Rules page for more information on PPR.)
Division Classifications:
- Open – open to all players
- Men – men only
- Women – women only
- Mixed Doubles – One male and one female
- Open Doubles – Any two players, male or female
- Youth – players 20 years old and younger
Division Attributes:
- Any – League match can be played anywhere and anytime during the week
- Day/Time – League match will be played at a specific day and time each week – example Tuesday night at 7:30 pm (location will be determined by the players – the home bar of the home team will be the default location)
- Location/In house – In house leagues at same bar/location each week (requires the bar/location to pay a location fee of $7 per player) – all players will play at same location each week
- Traveling – Matches may be played at multiple locations, at least two, maybe more, or in a more traditional home team hosts away team schedule format (requires bar/location to pay a location fee of $7 per player – this fee is split among all locations)
- Area – Leagues will be specific to an area – example South County, St. Charles, Southern Illinois, etc.
League Formats:
- Standard 01 Set Format – The standard set format for all leagues will be a best of 5 sets format. Each set will consist of a best of 3 games/legs of 501. So a match could end in as little as 6 games (i.e. 2-0, 2-0, 2-0 for a 3-0 set win) or could go the full 15 games (i.e. 2-1, 1-2, 2-1, 1-2, 2-1 for a 3-2 set win). The winning player will receive one point for a match win. Set wins will be used as a tiebreaker.
- Standard 01 Matchplay Format – The standard matchplay format will be a best of 15 games/legs match. The first player to reach 8 wins will win the match and receive a point in the standings. Leg differential will be used as a tiebreaker.
- Long 01 Set Format – If requested, leagues can be a best of 7 or best of 9 sets or sets can be best of 5 games instead of best of 3 games.
- Long 01 Matchplay Format – If requested, leagues can be a best of 17, 19 or 21 legs.
- Premier League 01 Format – Each match will consist of as many as 12 games. Once a player reaches 7 wins, the match is over. The match can end in a 6-6 draw. If a player wins the match by winning 7 games they receive 2 points in the standings. If the match ends in 6-6 draw, each player gets 1 point. Leg differential is the tie breaker.
- Singles League 01/Cricket Set Format – Same set format as 01 Set Format however sets will alternate between 01 and Cricket. Players will make the final choice.
- Singles League 01/Cricket Matchplay Format – Same matchplay format as 01 Matchplay however games will alternate between 01/Crk/01/Crk, etc.
- Mixed or Open Doubles League Format – All doubles leagues will play the following format:
- Singles (2) – Cricket (Best of 3), each player plays – home team determines matchup (if mixed male vs. male and female vs. female)
- Doubles – Cricket (Best of 3)
- Singles (2) – 501 OI/DO (Best of 5), play same player you played in first singles
- Doubles – Cricket (Best of 3)
- Singles (2) – 01 OI/DO (Best of 5), must play player you did not play in the first two singles (if mixed, still male vs. male and female vs. female)
- Doubles – 501 OI/DO (Best of 7)
Mixed or Open Doubles matches will have 9 wins/points available per match. Teams will receive 1 point for each win. Tiebreaker will be head to head matches, then total head to head points.
